A renal mass or tumor is an abnormal growth within the kidney. Some masses are benign (non-cancerous), while others may be malignant (cancer). It is estimated that 1 in 4 renal masses are benign.
The first role of a urologist is to evaluate the nature of the mass. During your clinic visit a comprehensive medical history and physical exam will be performed. Laboratory data will be collected and additional X-rays may be ordered as well. Once the initial data is gathered, a treatment plan is tailored to the individual patient.
At South Land Urology we will give you all the tools and resources to make informed treatment decisions. We will help you feel confident in your care plan and promise to be there with you 100% of the way.
